Search and answer readiness

Give each storefront page a clear search job

A useful SEO/GEO assignment starts with a page and a customer question. Use an Agent to turn supplied evidence into an audit memo, a content decision and a change that someone can verify.

On this page

Start from the decision the visitor is trying to make

“Improve SEO” leaves the important decisions unspecified. Pick one URL, one target market and one question that page should answer. A collection page helping a visitor compare options needs different evidence from a product page explaining delivery, compatibility or care. Record the intended action and the information a visitor needs before taking it.

GEO adds another reading context: information may be summarized in a generated answer. Work on clear statements, attributable evidence and consistent terminology. Repeating keywords or adding an FAQ to every page does not establish that the content is useful.

Use the system that already exists

Keep website capabilities separate from the work proposed for your own store.

Existing capabilityHow it supports the assignment
Account, plan and Agent managementConfirm available entitlement, create an Agent and open its workspace.
Token statisticsReview recorded model calls and Token trends when checking resource use.
SmaugBrain website metadataThis site emits canonical links, hreflang, JSON-LD and a sitemap. A customer store still needs its own inspection.
Translation presentationAvailable translations are shown; missing translations fall back to the source. Assess whether that source meets the target market’s needs.

Make the first deliverable a short audit memo

The following is a briefing format, not a report from a real customer.

Page: [URL and captured version]
Market and language: [specific audience]
Customer question: [decision the page should help resolve]
Evidence: [page excerpt, supplied HTML or authorized report]
Finding: [observed issue, not a guessed ranking cause]
Proposed change: [one edit and its reason]
Acceptance: [what must be visible in the resulting page]
Unverified: [checks blocked by missing access or evidence]
Reviewer: [person responsible for approval]

Connect search intent to evidence already available

Provide the current page, related product facts, market terminology and any authorized search-performance exports you already have. Ask the Agent to distinguish direct observations from assumptions. If no performance report is available, the memo should say so rather than invent demand, traffic, competitors or a baseline.

The brief can identify missing answers, unclear headings, conflicting claims and useful internal-link destinations. Every recommendation should name the affected passage and explain the visitor benefit. Live-page inspection depends on the tools and access in the actual Agent environment; supplied HTML or text can support a bounded review when browsing is unavailable.

Accept a page change with a comparison record

Keep the old version and the proposed version together until the reviewer can explain the difference.

  • Content and intent

Check that the revised answer is specific, supported and appropriate for the chosen market.

  • Rendered page

Inspect headings, links and reading order on desktop and mobile. Check the actual delivered HTML where access permits.

  • Technical consistency

Compare canonical and language links, relevant structured data and sitemap inclusion against the agreed page purpose.

  • Recorded limits

List checks that passed, failed or could not run. Separate implementation evidence from later search-performance observations.

A reviewed recommendation still needs a publishing decision

The account area supplies plan, Agent, order and Token management. An audit document and its publishing checklist are work products to agree with your team; this workflow does not assume a built-in task board, file-results centre or automatic storefront publishing.

A human owner approves factual claims, market-specific wording and production changes. After publication, compare the live page with the approved version and monitor the external reports your team actually uses. A readable, technically consistent page is an acceptance result you can inspect; visibility and citations need separate observation over time. Keep the date and page version with each observation so a later reviewer can distinguish a completed edit from a change in search performance.

Questions before commissioning an audit

Will this improve rankings or secure AI citations?

No outcome is guaranteed. The assignment produces inspectable page recommendations; ranking, indexing and answer-engine citations remain external outcomes.

What if the Agent cannot open our website?

Supply the relevant page text or HTML through an input channel supported by the runtime. Record inaccessible checks as unverified and obtain the missing evidence before approval.

Prepare one page for review

Use the documentation to set up your workspace, then define a page, its evidence and the person who will approve changes.
